Announcements

1. Cardinal Oswald Gracias has made an appeal through the Examiner newsweekly for contributions towards the flood relief work that is being carried out in many states in India through CARITAS – the social work arm of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India. Cheques may be drawn in favour of ‘Çentre for Social Action’, placed in an envelope and dropped in the box kept near the altar. Please write your name, address, telephone number and PAN card number as required. 

  

2. The 6 p.m. Mass this Sunday is offered for the soul of Fr Ashlyn Fonseca on the 2nd Anniversary of his death. In his memory, ‘Monsoon Musings’ – an evening of fine music performed by our children, youth and adults will be held in the hall immediately after the evening Mass. All are encouraged to attend in large numbers and cheer the participants. 


3. Bishop Dominic Savio Fernandes will be visiting our parish on Wednesday, 28th August. He will meet the parish team, visit a few of our sick and homebound parishioners and celebrate the 7 p.m. Mass. You are invited to attend this Mass. The families of St. Anthony’s community will be prayed over during this Mass.


4. The Novena in preparation for the Nativity of Mother Mary begins on Friday, 30th August. The Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. followed by Mass. Sponsors for snacks and sweets for children are welcome. Contact the Sunday school teachers or the parish fathers.


5. The Women’s Cell will be celebrating ‘Girl Child Day’ on 8th September through various competitions which will highlight the theme of how the girl child can be nurtured to have a better relationship in the family and society. The last day to submit the entries is 6th September. To know the categories in which you will be judged please see the notice board with details.   


6. The Women’s Cell along with the communities will be putting up food stalls during the Novena days. Please patronize the stalls and remember to bring your own bag to take the food items.


7. The Examiner newsweekly, is offering a special 20% discount on its annual subscriptions for all new subscribers who register before 8th September. Please register your names in the church office or with Mr. Dias at the earliest and see the notice board for more details.
